Unfortunately, there is no available financial support for participants at this moment. So, those who plan to attend the summer school should pay for their own accommodation.
The University of Milano Bicocca offers accommodation for guests attending events such as summer schools and conferences.
Participants interested in these facilities listed below should communicate their choice to the organizers, who will make the reservation for them.
Alternatively, participants may find accommodation by themselves. Related information and suggestions can be found below.
University accommodation
The University of Milano Bicocca provides a limited number of rooms, placed in two different buildings.
Building U12 (fully booked)
Building U12 is located inside the campus, 300 meters away from the Department of Mathematics and Applications (map).
This residence has 14 beds available at this moment. There are two options:
- “single bed” rooms at 60€/night (in some cases the bathroom is shared with another room).
- “two single beds” rooms with bathroom at 50€/night per person.
There is no kitchenette in the rooms.
The address of Building U12 is Via Vizzola 5, Milano.
Building U22 (fully booked)
Building U22 is 3,5 kilometers away from the Department of Mathematics and Applications (map).
It takes around 35 minutes by bus to reach the department from Building U22 (more information about connections between Building U22 and the campus can be found here and here).
This residence has 33 beds available at this moment. There are two options:
- “single bed” rooms at 170€/week.
- “two single beds” rooms at 150€/week per person.
Each room has both kitchenette and bathroom.
The address of Building U12 is Via Mantova 75, Sesto San Giovanni.
Participants interested in any of the above accommodation should communicate to the organizers their choice by specifying the building and the room. In particular, those interested in rooms with two single beds could also suggest a roommate.
Hotels
Participants interested in staying in a hotel should book their room by themselves.
Among the hotels located in the proximity of the University of Milano Bicocca, we suggest the following options:
Hotel Novotel Milano Nord Ca Granda ****
Via Suzzani 13, Milano
Rooms cost 101€/night. This is a special price due to a deal with the University of Milano Bicocca. So, when booking a room, please inform the hotel of being a participant of the summer school.
and
Hotel Ibis Milano Ca Granda ***
Via Suzzani 15, Milano
Rooms cost 75-80€/night. There is no deal with the University.
Both hotels are 2 km away from the department, that can be reached by Tram 7 in approximately 15 minutes, as explained here).
Also, the hotels are close to the subway station Ca Granda on the 5th line.
The department is connected to other parts of the city by subway (10 minutes walking from the station Bicocca of the 5th Line), by train (100 meters far from the train station Milano Greco Pirelli, reached by the Lines S7, S8, S9 and S11), by tram (200 meters from the stop of Line 7), and by bus.
Those participants that choose accommodation different than those above, should inform themselves of how to reach the department by looking at this webpage.
For instance, apart from the center of the city, the area of Lambrate is only 6 minutes far by train, the area of Garibaldi is 8 minutes far by train, and the area of the cental station (Stazione Centrale) is 20 minutes far by Bus 87.
